ProForm SMART Pro 2000 Review

Last Updated: April 17, 2020

The ProForm SMART Pro 2000 is a new and improved 2019 version of the original ProForm Pro 2000. Costing the least of all ProForm treadmills, the highly popular model can be quite a steal with its plethora of features especially when on sale.

Here’s all you can do with the SMART Pro 2000:

  • Stay Occupied with the Improved Full-Color Display
We love how ProForm has finally ditched the dual-color screen on the original Pro 2000, replacing it with a 7-inch Smart HD Touchscreen. This means that all ProForm treadmill models now have touchscreens with full color display. The SMART Pro 2000 does have the smallest screen dimensions when compared with the SMART Pro 5000 and 9000 and their 10-inch displays.
  • iFit FREE for a Year
The original Pro 2000 was only iFit-enabled and still so popular. As an additional perk, the SMART Pro 2000 comes with a free year-long iFit membership just like the other trims in the Pro series. iFit will  introduce you to a world of workout possibilities. It also tracks your stats (fitness activity, nutrition, and sleep). We especially appreciate how a single membership can accommodate up to four user profiles so that your stats can be kept separate from friends and family who make use of the app. With iFit, you can get coached LIVE under world-class personal trainers who control your treadmill speed and incline in real-time. You can run on beautiful locations that appear on-screen for a virtual exploring experience. You can choose any of the thousands of workouts, or compete in challenges and marathons. iFit will certainly up your workout game to the next level.
  • Try Out 50 Complementary Workouts
Apart from iFit’s endless options, the ProForm SMART Pro 2000 comes equipped with 50 standard workouts. These have different speeds and settings to help you reach various fitness goals. This comprehensive collection of built-in workouts will stay with you, no additional cost required ever!
  • Stay Pain-Free with Shock Absorption Technology
Just like all the other ProForm treadmills, the SMART Pro 2000 is also equipped with a running deck that has ProShox™ Cushioning technology. It was a pleasant surprise for us to discover how the belt absorbs the impact of each stride rather than straining our joints and leaving us with aches and pains after.
  • Let the Tough Motor Handle Intense Workouts
We think the lifetime warranty on the motor itself is enough to justify it as a reliable option. The SMART Pro 2000 provides a quiet experience with its 3.5 CHP Mach Z™ Commercial Plus motor that is built to last. You won’t have to worry about it overheating any time soon either, so you can enjoy longer walks or runs.
  • Longer-than-Usual Belt
Usually, residential treadmills have tread belts that are 55 inches in length. That’s not the case with this treadmill, however. You get 60 whole inches of length with 22-inches in width. This makes running suitable for all users. No fears about falling off the edge! The 2.5-inch precision-balanced rollers further add smoothness and reduce noise as the belt keeps rolling.
  • Increase the Incline and Speed for Extra Exertion
Just like the SMART Pro 5000 and SMART Pro 9000, the SMART Pro 2000 also offers a range of decline/incline from -3% to 15%. It’s a well-known fact how running or even walking at slow speeds on an inclined treadmill can multiply your calorie burn considerably. It also offers a great workout to your lower body muscles. This means you can increase fat burn, speed up weight loss, and build lean muscle, all at once by using the incline feature. The incline feature also comes into action when you use our personal favorite iFit feature that uses Google map locations for virtual running – the incline of the treadmill adjusts to your chosen terrain throughout your run to provide a life-like experience. The SMART Pro series treadmills have top speeds of 12 mph which make them suitable even for the athletically inclined.
  • Stay Comfortable with the Built-In Fan
All treadmills of the SMART Pro series have a CoolAire™ workout fan on the console. The fan has two speed options that provide comfortable workout sessions. We really felt and appreciated the breeze during our  intense running sessions.
  • Enjoy the Audio Features Throughout Your Run
With their built-in dual 3-inch Bluetooth speakers and the audio auxiliary port, it seems to us that music lovers will really appreciate the sound system on the SMART Pro series treadmills.
  • Keep Your Heart Rate in Check through the Pulse-Sensitive Handlebars
Monitor your heart rate through the Dual Grip EKG monitors present in the handlebars. We’ve found them to be impressively sensitive, just like the wireless chest strap which is also included in the package for the same purpose.
  • Fold It & Store It
If you live in an arrangement where you’re already short of space, a folding feature is really something you’d want to consider when buying a treadmill. It’s also useful if you like the convenience of uninterrupted cleaning since treadmills can be quite bulky and difficult to move otherwise. Just like its siblings, the ProForm SMART Pro 2000 is also built with a SpaceSaver® design that employs EasyLift™ Assist technology to provide an extra push which folds up the treadmill once you’re done for the day.
  • Relax, the Lasting Warranty Has You Covered
The generous warranty on the SMART Pro 2000 is a good indication that the treadmill itself is built to last. With other features of convenience like its solid build, the added accessory tray, the tablet holder, and quick controls, the SMART Pro 2000 is a great choice if you’d like a modern treadmill that isn’t too pricey.

  • 10-Year Frame Warranty
  • 2-Year Parts Warranty
  • 1-Year Labor Warranty

Bottom Line

From its free one-year iFit trial to its smooth running belt and a motor that is powerful enough, the SMART Pro 2000 has a lot to offer. It’s a great choice if you don’t mind the 7-inch display which is smaller than that of its siblings.
