Quick Introduction

“Priced to please, built to perform” is the Sole motto for their F65 model. While we don’t agree with everything the manufacturer says, we can definitely agree with this statement.

The Sole F65 treadmill is the older brother of the F63, with slight upgrades in motor power, display size, and belt width. While there are advanced models available in its series, the F65 retails at a comparatively lower price point. It provides comfort and performance for all sorts of training activities, from walking to high-performance running.

Here’s everything we like (or don’t!) about the F65, as of 2021:

  • 7.5” LCD Console Display and Tablet Holder

The F65 offers a display that is an inch or two larger than the F63 for your workout stats. An integrated tablet holder takes care of your entertainment needs and allows you to keep your device and fitness apps in sync with the treadmill. While it isn’t as remarkable as the full-color screens on advanced treadmills today, it is good enough for a functional mid-range treadmill. If you’re bored, you always have the option of using your gadgets.

  • 3.25 CHP Motor

The motor on the Sole F65 is powerful enough to handle walks, jogs, and sprints during at-home training. However, if you’re a heavyweight high-intensity runner, you could opt for the more advanced F80 or F85 to speed up without fear of motor burnout.

  • Multiple Training Options

When it comes to workout variety, the F65 doesn’t disappoint. Besides having a manual mode, five programs (cardio, fat burn, strength, interval, hill), and two user profiles, it is integrated with the SOLE app, which you can view on your Apple or Android device and sync with the treadmill via Bluetooth.

The SOLE app allows you to keep a record of your workout stats on your device. You can customize your workout plan and track and transfer your data to other apps like Fitbit, iHealth, mapmyfitness, and RECORD.

Another feature we love about Sole enables you to explore the world right on your treadmill. Known as Kinomap, it offers virtual running locations you can view on your tablet screen and continuous automatic incline adjustment according to your selected terrain’s actual steepness. We found it a lot like the Google map locations offered by the iFit Coach app in the NordicTrack and ProForm treadmills.

  • Wide Speed and Incline Range

What use is a treadmill if you can’t go as fast as you please? Now with speeds up to 20 km/h, the Sole F65 can accommodate brisk walkers, jogging enthusiasts, and fast-paced athletes. In case you need to multiply calorie burn and shed some serious pounds, there are 30 levels of incline (up to 15%) to set it just at the right steepness. Incline walking will also add a valuable strength component to your workout if you’d like to get your legs in shape besides gaining the cardio benefits.

  • 56 x 152.5 cm Cushion Flex Whisper Deck

With the F65, tall and broad individuals needn’t worry about falling off or not having enough elbow space. This tread belt has a slight but welcome 2-inch enhancement in width compared to the former F63 model.

One of our favorite features with the F65 is the Cushion Flex Whisper Deck which can drastically reduce the impact to the joints by as much as 40%, compared to running on asphalt outside. It’s light on the knees so that you won’t have those troubling aches and pains post-workout. The reversible deck theoretically doubles the life of the treadmill too.

  • Convenient Folding Feature

A super-convenient feature on the Sole F-series treadmills is Easy Assist Folding. The patented folding system by Sole locks the treadmill deck into an upright position, and with the click of a button, your treadmill will unfold and be ready to go – a much-needed feature in many households across Britain!

  • Heart Rate Monitoring

Like any modern treadmill, the F65 offers pulse sensing hand grips to monitor your heart rate and display the reading over the console in a matter of seconds. Another heart rate tracking alternative is via telemetry, where you can hook up a chest strap to the F65 via Bluetooth to enable wireless monitoring.

  • Other Features

One great feature that shows how confident Sole is with the quality of the F65 is the lifetime warranty on the motor and frame and 3 years on the parts and labour. However, we’ve seen plenty of complaints about the brand’s poor customer support, so be warned!

In addition to the above features, the F65 also features a cooling fan, an integrated tablet holder, a USB charging point, and a Bluetooth-integrated sound system to keep you entertained and comfortable throughout your workout.

Negatives

  • The speakers may not be as powerful as you would like
  • Sometimes, the incline change may take time

  • The brand has a reputation for poor customer support

Warranty Summary

The Sole F65 comes with:

  • Lifetime motor, frame, & deck
  • 3 years parts & labour

Bottom Line

The F65 can be a durable buy, especially when on sale. Its immense weight capacity, sturdy construction, and various features that facilitate entertainment, comfort, convenience, and functionality make it a good option for casual home use. If you’re on the heavier end of the spectrum and are used to extended high-intensity workouts, however, we’d recommend considering a treadmill with a slightly stronger motor to ensure it lasts its worth.
